الرمان
A fruit mentioned in the Qur'an among the bounties of the earth, discussed by classical physicians as beneficial for the heart and blood.
مَا مِنْ رُمَّانَةٍ إِلَّا وَفِيهَا حَبَّةٌ مِنْ جَنَّةِ الْفِرْدَوْسِ
“There is no pomegranate that does not contain a seed from the pomegranates of Paradise.” (meaning, not a literal translation)
Ibn al-Qayyim discusses pomegranate (sweet and sour varieties) within humoral medicine as beneficial for the heart, liver, and stomach depending on variety and ripeness.
