العِنَب
Grapes, named among the fruits of the earth in the Qur'an, distinct from the existing 'Raisin Water' entry which covers the specific soaked-raisin drink.
وَجَنَّاتٍ مِنْ أَعْنَابٍ
“...and gardens of grapevines...” (meaning, not a literal translation)
The Prophet ﷺ is reported to have enjoyed grapes and other fruits; specific hadith on preparation methods are fewer than for dates.
Ibn al-Qayyim discusses grapes as nourishing and moistening, suited to hot, dry constitutions, and notes both fresh grapes and their dried form (raisins) feature throughout the classical dietary tradition.
