Earth-and-Saliva Ruqyah for Wounds

A short ruqyah applied directly to a wound or sting, combining a physical substance (moistened earth) with a spoken formula invoking Allah's permission to heal.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تُرْبَةُ أَرْضِنَا، بِرِيقَةِ بَعْضِنَا، يُشْفَى سَقِيمُنَا، بِإِذْنِ رَبِّنَا

“In the name of Allah: the dust of our earth, with the saliva of one of us, by which our sick one is healed, by our Lord's permission.” (meaning, not a literal translation)

Reported that the Prophet ﷺ would moisten a finger with saliva, touch it to the ground, then apply it to the affected spot while reciting this formula.

Ibn al-Qayyim's Commentary

Ibn al-Qayyim places this within his broader treatment of legitimate Prophetic ruqyah — a category he's careful to distinguish from folk charms, precisely because it pairs a real physical means with words attributing the actual cure to Allah alone.
